New Horizons
New Horizons is the newest game in the Animal Crossing series and definitely the one that I've played the most. You get to live on a deserted island and make it less abandoned, adding landscaping and villagers to it over time.
My island's name is Metropolis. I didn't get to pick it out because my sister and I share a Switch and that means that we have to live on the same island. She chose the name.
There's definitely a level of irony to her choice, considering that it was an ABANDONED island and a Metropolis is a heavily populated place, but the island has definitely gotten closer to being a metropolis over time.
The Villagers on My Island
- Rodney (I really want to get rid of him)
- Ankha
- Sandy
- Bianca
- Frobert (I really want to get rid of him too)
- Sprinkle
- Nana
- Curt
- Rodeo (my favourite!)
The best advice that I can give new players of the game would be to plant as many trees as you can of fruits that aren't native to your island (Apples are my native fruit, so I could do cherries, pears, peaches or oranges). You can get lots of bells by selling non-native fruits to Timmy and Tommy, which is great for getting your island up and running. Also, you can plant bell trees if you bury some of your bells in an opening which lets out light. These can be pretty great for getting your island's economy up and running as well, but only one golden hole shows up each day.
More Tips, Tricks & Suggestions
- Get the pocket stuffing and tool upgrades from the nookstop as soon as you can!
- Invest in lots of turnips on Sunday mornings
- Put your shovel away when you're not using it (It can be really annoying having it out sometimes)
- Visit your friends islands to trade and get exotic fruits
- Give your villagers lots of gifts (They'll usually give you something back!)
- Don't give up!
